Avon Girls Volleyball Sweeps Rival Ellington

Avon girls varsity volleyball swept rival Ellington 3-0 Friday (25-12, 25-15, 25-12) in an NCCC match at home. 

That advances Avon's NCCC record (2-2), putting them 2-3 for the season.

Avon head coach Curtis Burns noted seniors Amanda Savarese (10 aces, 6 digs) and Mary Pearce (19 assists), as well as junior Ariel Lepito (5 aces, 4 blocks, 4 kills) as the game's standout players. 

Avon plays away on Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. at Newington High School for a non-conference match.
