Avon Magnet School Teacher Placed On Leave, DCF Investigates

AVON, CT — A staff member at CREC Reggio Magnet School of the Arts has been placed on leave following a complaint against them at the end of the school year, FOX 61 reported. Officials said the staff member is on leave pending an investigation by the state Department of Children and Families.

The allegations against the staff member include that they used excessive force in disciplining a child, including putting the child underneath a desk and squeezing the child between their thighs.

A spokesperson for the victim's family told WFSB that the child was traumatized by the incident.
