
Audrey (Bell) Hugel, of Avon, beloved wife for 66 years to Robert G. Hugel, passed away Friday, June 10, 2016, surrounded by her family.
Born in Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Charles Drevet and Lillian (Kirkham) Bell, she was raised there; lived in Smithtown, NY, and spent summers in Southampton, NY for many years. After moving to Avon in 1965, she worked for Lord & Taylor in West Hartford and volunteered at the Hartford Hospital. Active and vivacious, she was an avid tennis player and former member of the Golf Club of Avon Tennis and Farmington Farms Tennis Club. She was past president of both the Avon Women's Club as well as the Avon Garden Club and a long time member of the Myth Farmington Players and the Avon Gourmet Club.
Besides her beloved husband Bob, she leaves two sons G. Drevet Hugel of Southampton, NY and Craig R. Hugel and his wife Lisa of Simsbury; a daughter Lynne H.R. Monterville and her husband Gary of Terryville; five grandchildren Stephanie B. Bahre, Kendall J. Rodgers, David A. Hugel, Stephen C. Hugel, and Laura E. Hugel; and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 5-8 pm at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. A Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held Friday, June 24, 2016, at 11 AM at Saint Matthew Lutheran Church, 224 Lovely Street, Avon. The Rev. Daniel W. Hille will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Evergreen Cemetery, Avon.
