Condolences to his family and friends.

Charles A. Dew, 72, of Avon, beloved husband of Dorothy "Dee Dee" (Addis) Dew, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, following a valiant fight with brain cancer.

Born in Waterbury to the late Arthur Dew, he served his country proudly in the US Navy before going on to earn his bachelor's degree from Central Connecticut State University. Charlie was a resident of Avon for 43 years and worked as an information technology manager for the State of Connecticut. He was a member of the American Legion Post 201 in Avon and was an involved member of Avon Baseball, serving as Treasurer and coach.

Charlie had a caring heart and an undying love for his family. Charlie's love and devotion to his two sons was conveyed through nearly 30 years of coaching them, particularly in baseball. He loved being outside, was an avid reader, and enjoyed discussing classical literature. His creative spirit led him to have a passion for playing guitar, composing his own songs, and writing his own stories. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
