
George P. Wiseman, 85, of Avon, beloved husband of Mary Muehleisen Wiseman, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at his home with his family at his side.
He was born March 30, 1930 in Pompton Plains, NJ, son of the late George and Frieda (Bliel) Wiseman and had lived in Simsbury prior to moving to Avon 13 years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in the Korean War. Mr. Wiseman was a Station Manager for Eastern Airlines at Newark Airport and Bradley Airport for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Gildo T. Consolini VFW Post 3272 in Avon.
George enjoyed flying, photography, tennis and skiing. He and his family loved traveling and he had visited all seven continents.

Besides his loving wife of 20 years, he is survived by his daughter, Cara Chapel and her husband Robert Bruce Chapel of Granby; his stepdaughter, Jaime Sambrook of Avon; his stepsons, David Sambrook of Georgia and Douglas Sambrook of Texas; his sister, Elizabeth Greene of Pompton Plains, NJ; his three nieces, Martha Carcuss of New Jersey, Marjorie Greene of California and Jane Greene of Nevada and his nephew Michael Greene of California. He was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia (Crowley) Wiseman and a sister, Frieda Wiseman of Maine.
There are no calling hours. Graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, December 11th at the Simsbury Cemetery, 16 Plank Hill Road in Simsbury.
