Avon Obituary: Louis Pane III, 57

Condolences to his family and friends.

Louis A. Pane, III, 57, of Simsbury, beloved husband of Leslie M. (Banta) Pane for 35 years, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016.

He was born in Toul, France to Louis A. Pane, Jr. and Vivian (Firnhaber) Pane, of Avon. He was raised in Avon, graduating from Avon High School in 1976 where he participated in baseball and cross country. He was also involved in Simsbury American Legion Baseball and the Avon Men's Softball League, and attended Central Connecticut State University. For several years, Louis worked for the family business, Avon Paint & Wallpaper. He was later employed by Residex in Hartford and more recently by Lincare of Bloomfield. He was formerly a member of the Avon Volunteer Fire Department.

Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by his son Ashton Pane of Simsbury; brother Mark Pane (Megan) of Simsbury; sisters Laura Pane of Durham, NC and Linda Cordes (John) of Chapel Hill, NC; his faithful dog Baylee; several nieces and nephews; and his wife's family: parents Gail and Bob Banta, sisters Mary Gail Wolf and Susan Banta, and brother Bobby Banta, Jr. (Suzy).

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 11 AM at the West Avon Congregational Church, 280 Country Club Road, Avon. The Rev. Dr. Brian Hardee will officiate. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network at BCAN.org.
