
Peggy Ann “Cookie” (Hinchliffe) Rewenko of Avon, formerly of Terryville and Bristol, widow of Michael Rewenko, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born September 16, 1942, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Keller) Hinchliffe she was born and raised in Unionville. Peggy worked at UConn Health Center in the accounting department for 16 years, retiring in 2010. She began her career at Traveler’s Insurance where she met her husband Mike. She volunteered her time for Meals on Wheels and was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved cheering on her grandchildren’s soccer, baseball and basketball games from the sidelines and was their biggest fan. She loved parties and get-togethers and particularly loved family vacations to Cape Cod and Vermont.
Cookie led an amazing, love filled life. She traveled, volunteered, enjoyed the arts and loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Peggy is survived by her three loving children, Michael Rewenko and wife Michelle of Harwinton, Steven Rewenko and wife Sharon of Burlington, and Mark Rewenko and wife Cristy of Burlington, her eight grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Corey, Amanda, Matt, Jake, Madison, Benjamin, and Jack, her loving companion, Doug Pyatt of Avon, her niece, Patty and husband Tracy Lincoln, their children, Jessica, Alexis and Ashley, her niece, Terry Matuza, her sister-in-law, Alice Rudzinksi and several other extended family members. She was predeceased by her sister, Jean Oleskewicz and her brother, Raymond Hinchliffe Jr.
The family would like to thank her hospice nurses, Tina and Margaret, who took such great care of her.

Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville Tuesday (Sept. 22) from 4:00-8:00pm. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Wednesday (Sept. 23) at 9:15am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville at 10:00am. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Avon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
