Avon Obituary: Theresa Paul, 96

Theresa Mary Paul passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2015 at age 96.

She was born June 7, 1919 to Joseph and Theresa Killian in Elizabeth, NJ. Theresa married Ernest F. Paul (deceased) in 1940. They lived in Point Pleasant, NJ for many years enjoying boating, skiing and fishing before moving to Deltona, FL. Theresa moved to Weatogue to be closer to her family.

She is survived by her 3 daughters - Barbara (Bruce) McNab of Englishtown, NJ, Jeannette (Gene) Manaresi of Avon, and Theresa Ann (Mike, deceased) Lushine of Roseville, MN; Grandchildren – Jeffrey (Alison) Manaresi, Janet (Paul) Tarasuk, and Jennifer (Jason) Smith all of West Hartford, Karen Lushine and brother Michael Lushine (deceased) of MN; Great grandchildren – Katherine and Drew Manaresi, Ellery and Cameron Tarasuk, Gigi and Leilyn Smith, Elena and Elisa Lushine and Paul, Faith and Grace Lushine; and many nieces and nephews.

Theresa was known for her handiwork in crocheting, knitting and sewing. She enjoyed giving her crocheted scarves to friends and family. Theresa was so proud that she had worked at Singer Sewing Machine Company where she bought her own sewing machine as a 20 year old. Theresa enjoyed lunches with her friends at the Avon and Canton Senior Centers for many years. She had a great sense of humor and loved cheering on her grandchildren at athletic events in high school and college. She especially enjoyed parties and weddings and spending time with family.

Theresa always said… “I’m blessed.” having 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren who lovingly called her ‘Great Great’. She was a wonderful person and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

A private family memorial service will be held with internment in Hollywood Memorial Cemetery, Union, NJ on October 6, 2015.
