Avon Old Farms to Host Push-Ups for Patriots
Participants raise money by doing push-ups and running throughout a 24 hour period.

Avon Old Farms will host the seventh-annual Push-Ups for Patriots Event to raise money for the Semper Fi Fund.
Participants try to complete 15,000 push-ups and run a total of 50 miles during the 24 period beginning on April 11 at 9 a.m. Participants do it alone or form teams to accomplish the goal.

All proceeds will benefit the Semper Fi Fund, an organization that provides financial assistance to wounded men and women returning from military service. In the 10 years since its inception, the Semper Fi Fund has distributed more than $104 million in relief. In the past six years, Avon Old Farms School has raised almost $88,000 for the cause, spearheaded by faculty member John Bourgault ’80, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
