Update: Man Robbed Avon Bank by Displaying Handgun
The robbery happened at Northwest Community Bank on Saturday morning.
On Saturday at approximately 10:38 a.m., an unknown male entered the Northwest Community Bank at 101 Simsbury Rd. and robbed the bank by displaying a black handgun.
The male was wearing blue pants, hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, baseball hat with a tan colored rim, a dark puffy style jacket, and his face was covered with a dark colored bandana.
It is believed that he left the scene in a vehicle, yet no vehicle description was provided nor direction of travel.

The amount taken is still being determined at this time.

This is the second bank robbery in town in less than a week. Police are looking into whether or not the two are connected.
