Avon Resident, 95, Receives Surprise Donation
When a local resident asked for a list of stores that carried her favorite chestnuts, she instead received a unique donation.

AVON, CT - Kay Sagarino, a 95-year-old resident of Apple Rehab, is a big fan of Hidden Mere Farm Organic Chestnuts. However, she typically has to wait until a visitor comes to get a bag of her favorite brand as they're difficult to find in supermarkets.
Sagarino wrote a letter to discount chain Ocean Store Job Lots, requesting a list of stores that sold the chestnuts so that visitors could bring her more.
David Sarlitto, Executive Director, Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation, got word of the letter and decided that a list wasn't enough. Instead, Sarlitto took a road trip and personally delivered ten bags of the chestnuts to Sagarino.
