Avon Resident Elected President-elect of ACMA

The American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA) has elected Robinson+Cole lawyer Norman H. Roos to serve as its president-elect for the 2018-2019 term. Mr. Roos was installed at the ACMA’s annual meeting on October 13, 2018 in Tucson, Arizona.

Mr. Roos is chair of Robinson+Cole's Finance Group and concentrates his practice on transactional and regulatory matters relating to the real estate and financial services industries. He represents banks, insurance companies, diversified financial service companies, and other publicly and privately held entities on a broad range of matters involving mortgage banking, consumer and commercial credit transactions, and regulatory compliance.

Formed in 1974, ACMA’s membership consists of more than 400 lawyers in North America who are recognized leaders in the mortgage law industry. To be considered for membership, a qualified lawyer must be nominated by an ACMA Fellow and meet rigorous criteria. As president-elect, Mr. Roos will perform all the duties of the president in the absence or disability of the president. He will also serve on the Executive Committee and, in that capacity, will also serve on the Board of Regents. In the laddered leadership structure of the ACMA, Mr. Roos will be elected president at next year’s annual meeting. He has previously served in the roles of secretary and treasurer.
