Avon Taxes Up Slightly With New Fiscal Year
The 2016-17 budget takes effect July 1.

AVON, CT - The new fiscal year begins July 1 and with it comes a slight increase in taxes.
Here is an overview of the $89 million 2016-17 budget, adopted on May 11.
- Tax rate - 29.52 mills, up from 28.80 mills.
- Municipal Expenditures: $23,295,518.
- Board of Education: $56,621,408.
- Debt Service: $2,779,790.
- Capital Improvement: $4,410,037.
- Sewers: $1,947,68.
- Total Expenditures: $89,054,435.
