Avon Would See State Aid Slashed in Half Under Malloy's New Plan

Avon's state aid package for fiscal year 2019 would be reduced from $1.5 million to just over $700,000 under latest plan Malloy released.

AVON, CT - The bad news keeps coming for Connecticut municipalities as the state attempts to claw out from under its budget mess.

Under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's revised, proposed adjustments to the fiscal year 2019 budget previously adopted by the legislature state municipal aid would be cut nearly $100 million - both in the education and non-education side.

For Avon, it would be a 54 percent cut from the previously approved $1.5 million total - to $700,000.
