Avon's Columbus Day Impacts Announced

AVON, CT — Avon officials this week announced impacts from the upcoming Columbus Day holiday, which is Monday, Oct. 9.

According to local leaders, all town offices, the public works department, the landfill and the Avon Free Public Library are closed on Monday.

Avon officials noted the library is open Saturday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the landfill is open for regular hours on Saturday.

Local public schools are also closed for the day on Monday.

Normal hours for all town and school facilities will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 10.
