Bicycle/Pedestrian Plan Topic Of Avon Forum

The Avon Town Council is expected to discuss and, possibly, vote on the proposal later this fall following the Sept. 19 forum.

AVON, CT — Town plans for a more pedestrian and bicycle-friendly Avon continue next week with the third public forum on that effort.

The program is Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center, 635 West Avon Road.

It is in response to feedback received from residents on the effort.

The evening's events will include a presentation by the town’s consultant, SLR Consulting, that will be focused on reviewing the proposed final recommendations for improvements to, and/or expansions of, Avon’s bicycle and pedestrian facilities.

Participants will have the opportunity to comment on the recommendations and provide feedback.

"We anticipate that the final plan, subject to any revisions made as a result of feedback received during the Sept. 19 meeting, will be presented to the town council for consideration and approval later this fall," wrote the Town of Avon.

The presentation will be posted on the Town’s website after the meeting for review.
