CONNECTICUT HIGH SCHOOL OUTSTANDING ARTS AWARDS RECIPIENTS HONORED AT CAS BANQUET

Local students, Erin Rinehart and Tal Saidon, from Avon High School, were two

of 296 top Connecticut seniors who excel in the arts that were honored

at the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) High School Outstanding Arts

Awards Banquet held on April 5th at the Aqua Turf in Southington. The students

are pictured here receiving their awards from left to right with Jennifer Lajoie,

Bearingstar Insurance Representative; Jonathan Gilman, Educator, Dramatist, and

Author and the keynote speaker for the event; Erika Metevier, Jostens

Representative; Jackie Coleman, Arts Consultant, Connecticut State Department of

Education; and Dr. Karissa Niehoff, Executive Director of CAS. The CAS Outstanding

Arts Awards Banquet annually recognizes two seniors in each high school for their

outstanding ability in the performing or visual arts. The students are chosen by their

school to receive this honor. The banquet, with over 1,400 in attendance, is

sponsored by Jostens and Bearingstar Insurance.
