Castle Talk with Ed Jarrett on the Last Formal Day of Viewing

He hopes his castle will stand throughout the summer.

He may not actually be a knight, but Ed Jarrett fought hail, rain, thunder, lightning, snow and even an adorably menacing blue bird to build his 37-foot-10-inch castle and claim the Guinness world record for the third time.

Though formal viewing ended on June 30, the castle will remain fenced off at Winding Trails in Farmington and standing throughout the summer, provided that thunderstorms and vandalism don't threaten to knock it over. Jarrett even has hopes of haunting it in October, if it is still there.

He hopes to raise $50,000 in gross and all of the proceeds go to his five charities -- Gifts of Love in Avon, Special Olympics Connecticut, New Horizons in Unionville, Save Walton Pond in Farmington and UCONN Children’s Cancer Fund.
