Annual Fishing Derby

The event costs $5 per person and registrations can be hand-delivered or mailed to the Recreation and Park Department Office at 60 West Main Street, Avon, CT 06001. Participants can also register between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. before the event starts on April 16. All award winners must be registered by 6 a.m. At 8 a.m., there will be a drawing for all children registered and winners must be present at the time of the drawing.

Rules:

1. No fishing before 6:00 a.m. on April 16, 2011.
2. Only artificial lures and worms or live worms may be used for bait.
3. No physical adult assistance except for baiting and casting. Children must hook and land their own fish.
