Chocol'Art

Sample sweet, chocolaty treats as you shop and explore the 20 studios and two galleries at the Farmington Valley Arts Center (FVAC) in Avon, Connecticut, on Saturday, December 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Chocol'Art—a family-friendly new event—features complimentary chocolate goodies to savor in each studio, as well as the opportunity to meet Connecticut artists and to shop for locally handcrafted gifts.

The studio artists who work on-site year-round at FVAC create everything from paintings, prints and portraiture to sculptures, pottery and jewelry. As visitors stroll the boardwalk of the historic, two-story brownstone that houses this vibrant community of artists, they'll feel miles away from the frenetic places frequented by most holiday shoppers.

From noon until 2 p.m., visitors can paint glass hostess plates with artist Carolann Dvorak-Brewer. Workshop participants will complete two glass tableware pieces to showcase their own chocolate treats and holiday baked goodies. Class fee is $25 at the door or $20 for those who pre-register by calling 860-678-1867 by Friday, December 9. There is also a $10 materials fee for two plates.
