Farmington Valley Arts Center Hosts Volunteer Tea

If you have an interest in the arts, like to meet new people and want to earn rewards for volunteering a few hours each week or each month, the Farmington Valley Arts Center (FVAC) in Avon invites you to attend a Volunteer Tea on Thursday, March 8, at 10 a.m.

Prospective volunteers can enjoy complimentary tea or coffee and pastries in the Arts Center's Fisher Gallery as they learn about opportunities to lend their talents to this non-profit community arts organization. Current volunteers will also be recognized at the event.

Volunteers are needed for flexible weekday and weekend shifts to help with special events and support the educational and sales efforts of two art galleries. Tasks typically performed by gallery volunteers include assisting customers, communicating information about artists and their work, providing information about FVAC programs, processing sales, boxing gifts, displaying new work and handling administrative tasks. Special events volunteers help with set-up and take-down, directing visitors and overseeing event activities. Training is provided, and volunteers earn discounts on classes and purchases in recognition of their service.

To register to attend or to learn more about the FVAC's volunteer program, please call 860-678-1867 or email fvacevents@gmail.com.

The Farmington Valley Arts Center is located at 25 Arts Center Lane in Avon Park North, just off Route 44 in the heart of Avon. Learn more online at: www.artsfvac.org.
