Jill Spurr Titus 2011 Scholarship Concert

The Jill Spurr Titus 2011 Scholarship Concert will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Avon Congregational Church. The concert is expected to conclude by 3 p.m. and a reception will follow. The public is invited to this free concert and no reservations are necessary.

The concert is in memory of Avon Congregational Church member Jill Spurr Titus, who graduated from Drew University and was a member of the Drew University Chamber Group.  About twenty years ago, her parents James and Janice Titus, of Avon, established a scholarship program in memory of Jill. Through this program, several Drew University students each year receive private music lessons, and the memorial concert features these talented students.

The memorial concert is usually held at Drew University, in Madison, New Jersey. This year, music department chairman and professor Norman Lowrey will bring the concert to Avon for the first time since 2006.
