These two gentlemen first crossed paths a little over four
years ago at the former “Gallery 101” in Collinsville, CT.  Both artists were regular exhibitors there and were introduced by then owner, Doug Tubach.  Jim and Bill instantly hit it off and became admirers of each other’s work during their tenure there. Both men shared an interest in all things rusty, historic and slightly offbeat at times. Though their approaches are dissimilar, there is an underlying persona inherent in the finished works that complement each other and help unify the show into a collective effort.

Recently, Mr. Manocchio and Mr. Koplar became reacquainted after some months off from public exhibitions. As fate would have it, the two are now neighbors in their new studios at The Farmington Valley Arts Center in Avon.

Bill Manocchio specializes in the “High Dynamic Range” (HDR) photography arena. His work is unique and varied. Some subjects are of local interests and some are personal favorites. All are presented in a one of a kind style as a result of his painstaking attention to color, composition and overall ambiance though the manipulation of various programs and exposures.

Jim Koplar will exhibit his two dimensional works in the pastel, oil and acrylic paint mediums. His subjects have a varied range from portraits to land/seascape and still life
works. Jim has also been a regular presenter of drawing workshops for the past ten years in the area including The Avon and Burlington Libraries, The Avon and Canton Parks and Rec. departments, The University of Hartford, the Plainville Art League and ongoing group and individual private lessons.

Please take some time to visit the gallery during the month
of August during regular Library hours.

All works are for sale and can be arranged for purchase by contacting the artists directly. To reach Jim Koplar call 860 508 4630.  To reach Bill Manocchio call 860 659 7407. Both artists will consider commissioned work. Hope you enjoy the show!
