Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation Cerlebrates Purim and Gives Back to the Community

70 children and 20 adult volunteers worked together to bake Hamantaschen for seniors

FVJC-ES celebrated a delightful Purim by inaugurating what we hope will be a new tradition. On Sunday, March 20 over 70 children and 20 adult volunteers worked together to bake Hamantaschen for seniors in a local Jewish organization and for members of the congregation. It was a morning of warmth, togetherness and creativity that reflected the congregation's commitment to tikkun olam (repairing the world). In April the entire religious school will work together to prepare several hundred sandwiches for a soup kitchen in Hartford and meals for Simsbury's ABC house.
