- Avon Little League's 11-12 team has gone "undefeated in pool play, 4 and 0," according to the team's manager, Mark Olson.
- The 11-12 team begins the playoff portion of the District 6 Championship on Monday at Simsbury Memorial Field. The game starts at 5:30 p.m. and the team will play either Simsbury or Torrington.
- Avon's team in the 9-10 age group played in the district championship Sunday in Burlington, losing 3-2 after winning the semifinal game against Simsbury 9-3.
- The team also went 4-0 in pool play. "We outscored our opponents 65-22 over those six games," team manager John Couture wrote to Patch in an e-mail, and the team also had the highest runs in the tournament and the lowest runs against it.
