Former Avon Swimmer Madison Kennedy Trains for U.S. Olympic Team Trials
She placed first in the 50 free last weekend at the Indianapolis Grand Prix.
A former Avon High School swimmer won the 50-meter freestyle last week at the Indianapolis Grand Prix, according to theswimmingcircle.com
Madison Kennedy, 24, finished the race in 24.99, breaking the meet record, the website reported.
The meet, held at the Indiana University Natatorium, was USA Swimming's fifth competition in its Grand Prix Series, according to usaswimming.org.

Kennedy competes for professionally SwimMac in North Carolina.
She is currently training for the 2012 Olympic Trials, which are scheduled for June 25 to July 2 in Omaha, NE, according to USA Swimming's website for a shot at competing in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The opening ceremony will be on July 27, according to www.london2012.com.

This is not her first time competing in Olympic Trials. She placed ninth in the 50 free and 13th in the 100-meter free at trials in 2008, according to her biography on the SwimMac website.
She placed second in the 50 free at U.S. Nationals in 2010 and 2011, according to the SwimMac website.
She won two gold medals as a member of TeamUSA at the 2009 World University Games, the website reported.
Kennedy majored in personality psychology at the University of California-Berkeley, according to her biography on usaswimming.org. She graduated in 2010.
According to the website, at age 4, Kennedy chose swimming over dance and gymnastics.
Her father, James Kennedy's nickname for her is Jaws, according to the USA Swimming website.
