‘HOW TO RAISE YOUR CHILDREN in an INCREASINGLY DANGEREOUS WORLD.’

MAY 3, 2015 9:15AM Fvjc-es 55 Bushy Hill Road, Simsbury

Over the last few years there has been noticeable difference in violence and danger that we face in the world at large. It seems to come at us in both expected and unexpected ways. It confronts us as gun violence, bullying, beheadings, terror attacks, cyber-terrorism, kidnappings, rape, war, home invasions, and extremism of all kinds. Over the last few years Rabbi Herman has heard from many of you how difficult it is for you to conceive of all of the dangers that we face out there is the world even in seemingly safe and protected environments. But there has been one constant theme asked in numerous ways that you have shared with the Rabbi about these difficult times and that is “How do I expose my child or my children to it? How do I keep them safe? How do I respond when they ask me “why” this violent act or that violent act has occurred? Why were these people hurt or killed? Is it going to happen to me? What can I do to insure that my kids are not victims? Can I in some way make a difference here?
