Hundreds turn out to help make sandwiches for the hungry

More than 900 sandwiches and dozens of Valentine's Day cards were made and delivered to four shelters in Hartford.

Thank you to the hundreds of participants who brought ingredients to St. Ann's parish and made sandwiches for the hungry in Hartford this past Sunday, Feb. 3. We delivered 903 sandwiches (nearly double last year’s quantity!!) and dozens of homemade Valentine’s Day cards to ImmaCare and Mercy Shelters, as well as the Cathedral Food Pantry. With such a windfall, we also made a spontaneous delivery to McKinney Shelter, whose clients were so grateful to have fresh meat and cheese sandwiches on Superbowl Sunday! Many people from the greater community joined our sandwich outreach this year to do something kind for people in need. Mark your calendar for next year’s Sandwich Sunday: Feb 2, 2020!
