Larrgest 5K Walk/Run in CT to Support Brain Tumor Patients Comes to Mystic, October 1st
An inspiring 5K walk, run, and family-fun event, Path of Hope raises funds and awareness to support the brain tumor community.

The Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance will host the fourth annual Path of Hope 5K Walk/Run on Sunday, October 1st, in Olde Mistick Village, Mystic, Connecticut. Individuals of all ages and fitness levels are invited to enjoy this fun, family-friendly event, expected to draw more than 800 participants.
The Path of Hope is uniquely designed to include patients, caregivers, and supporters. The wheelchair-accessible event provides a great opportunity to celebrate the power of resilience and the spirit of community. Many teams and individuals return every year, a tribute to the festive, feel-good tone set by event organizers. “We created the Path of Hope because we wanted an event where brain tumor patients and caregivers could come together with their friends and families to support their cause. A walk/run allows the community and families to participate, whether on the 5K walk or run, a shorter stroll, or as a spectator cheering others on. It's a wonderful way to gather people to show support and offer hope,” said Jen Pace, CTBTA board member and brain tumor survivor.
The past three Path of Hope events have been hugely successful in fostering a close-knit brain tumor community throughout Connecticut and beyond. “It’s a fantastic morning, full of energy and enthusiasm. There’s exercise, great speakers, uplifting entertainment, and a general feeling of joy, and affection,” said Dr. Michael Firestone, a radiologist from Avon, CT whose sister-in-law is a brain tumor survivor. “And I can’t say enough great things about the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance as an organization,” Firestone continued.
