Now is the time to register for Girl Scouts!

Girl Scouts of Connecticut calls for all girls and volunteers to join in the fun!

As summer draws to a close and parents and caregivers begin preparing for back to school, Girl Scouts of Connecticut is inviting all girls K-12 to join the fun and register for Girl Scouts! Girl Scouts gives girls a supportive space to take chances, try new things, and learn to succeed—improving all aspects of their lives.

When girls are given a safe and supportive environment to take chances, despite the potential for failure, they’re able to experience the emotional impact of risk without damaging consequences. Girl Scouts is the premier place to provide girls with a safe environment for trying new things and overcoming fears, making them greater challenge-seekers, more academically proficient students, and, eventually, more successful adults.

Feeling empowered to take action can be difficult for girls, but experiencing the benefits of girl-led programming like Girl Scouting can lead to significant growth in girls’ leadership skills—and, according to the Girl Scout Leadership Institute, Girl Scouts have more leadership experiences than other girls and boys! Through Girl Scout experiences, girls become more active and engaged learners, develop a positive sense of self, and learn resourceful problem solving.

“Through Girl Scouting, girls are able to try new things, explore the outdoors, make lifelong friends, and challenge themselves in a safe, supportive environment, all while having fun!” said Girl Scouts of Connecticut CEO Mary Barneby. “At Girl Scouts, we help girls learn that it’s OK to try and fail and that embracing failure is a natural part of life. It is important that our girls learn how to take challenges head-on and grow into courageous, confident women who will change our world for the better.”

From a Girl Scout Daisy in Kindergarten learning about nature, animals, and the environment, and coming out of her shell, to a Girl Scout Ambassador in high school earning the Gold Award and making a sustainable change in her community, the Girl Scout Leadership Experience will help them discover who they are and what they believe in, connect with others, and take action to make the world a better place.
