Photos: "Damn Yankees" Opening Friday at Avon High School
The cast will take the audience back to the 1950s.
Damn Yankees ran on Braodway from 1955 to 1957 and it is opening at Avon High School on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
The cast had a dress rehearsal on Wednesday evening and allowed Patch to sit in. On Thursday morning, the group performed at the Avon Senior Center.
In the musical, Joe Boyd sells his soul to the devil, Mr. Applegate, for "one good long-ball hitter" for his team, the Washington Senators. Mr. Applegate grants his wish, turning him into a 22-year-old sports superstar who must go back to his wife before 9 p.m. on the same night as the final game day if he doesn't want Mr. Applegate to get his soul.
The musical is based on the novel, The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant by Douglass Wallop.
