River Ridge at Avon to Host Free Summer Concert Series

A concert series dedicated to 'neighbors caring for neighbors' since 1998.

River Ridge at Avon, a Benchmark Senior Living community, invites the public to attend a free summer concert series scheduled for this June, July and August.

There is no charge to attend the concerts. River Ridge at Avon will host the series in its courtyard and provide complimentary refreshments and appetizers.

The Farmington Valley Band. Continuing a tradition that goes back years, The Farmington Valley Band will return to River Ridge at Avon to play a wide variety of music including the classics, jazz, pop, movies, marches, and patriotic tunes.

The Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers. A family favorite at River Ridge, The Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers features music played on the mandolin, guitar, bass, banjo, spoons, washtub, piano, button-box, harmonica, accordion, bones, jaw's harp and percussion instruments with wood block.

Wednesday, August 3 at 7pm

The Simsbury Community Band. Back for a return engagement at River Ridge, The Simsbury Community Band will play traditional marches, concert band pieces, pop and show tunes, and arrangements of big band numbers from the 1930s and 40s.

“River Ridge at Avon invites the public to join us for our annual summer concert series,” said Michelle Gagnon, Program Director at River Ridge at Avon. “This summer we are celebrating 17 years in Avon and dedicating our concert series to the Avon community we love so much. Since 1998, we’ve been a neighbor caring for our neighbors, and we look forward to seeing everyone again to hear some of the very best musicians in Connecticut.”

River Ridge at Avon is located at 101 Bickford Extension, Avon. RSVP by June 21 for the June 23 concert, July 2 for the July 4 concert, and August 1 for the August 3 concert.
