Suspect Sought in Avon Bank Robbery
Police say the suspect handed a note to a teller, demanding money and stating he had a gun.
AVON, CT — Police are searching for a man suspected of involvement in several area bank robberies, the latest coming late Wednesday morning at the Key Bank in Avon.
Around 11:58 a.m., police were notified that a white man had entered the bank at 232 West Main Street and handed a note to a teller, demanding money and stating he had a gun. He then left the scene is what is believed to be a white 4-door sedan, Lt. Kelly Walsh said.
The suspect was described as a thin white man in his late 30s with brown hair, wearing a black jacket-style hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, Walsh said.

Police have identified Zachary Provost as a possible suspect in the robbery. He is known to operate a red Dodge Ram pickup truck, and is wanted in connection with several other bank robberies in the area, Walsh said.
