Virtual History Program To Explore Avon Archaeological Site

AVON, CT — A virtual program Thursday night by the Avon Free Public Library and the Avon Historical Society will take a look at a historically significant archaeological site in town.

Called "Unearthing History: Update on the Brian D. Jones site in Avon," the program is at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, via Zoom.

It will feature Eric Heffter, a senior prehistoric archaeologist.

He will update the public on what's been happening at the Brian D. Jones site in Avon since its discovery in 2019.

"October is Archaeology Month in Connecticut, so his presentation will be 90 minutes with time after for Q&A," wrote the library.
