Accused Bank Robber Charged In Berlin Incident: Police
The 28-year-old New Britain man has already been charged in connection with a Newington bank robbery last month.

BERLIN, CT β A 28-year-old New Britain man charged with robbing a Newington bank has now been charged in connection with a bank robbery last month in Berlin.
The Berlin Police Department Wednesday said Matthew Kevorkian, 28, of Lyons Street, New Britain, was charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree larceny in connection with a Dec. 20 robbery at a Webster Bank branch in Berlin.
Kevorkian was charged Tuesday in New Britain Superior Court while he was answering to similar charges from the Newington Police Department for a bank robbery Dec. 29.

According to the BPD, the Webster Bank at 40 Webster Square Road, Berlin, reported a robbery at about 3:43 p.m. that day.
On Dec. 22, BPD officers and the Meriden Police Department executed a search warrant at the Red Roof Inn, 10 Bee St., Meriden.

During that search, a 2021 Kia Soul was seized, police said, with the subsequent probe identifying Kevorkian as the robbery suspect in Berlin.
Kevorkian has yet to plea on several counts and is expected in New Britain Superior Court on Jan. 16, according to online court records.
