Reckless Electric Vehicle Users Cause Havoc In Berlin: Police (patch.com) — Berlin residents are seeing stepped-up police patrols as officers respond to more than a dozen recent complaints about reckless e-bike, moped, scooter, and dirt bike riding on town roads. Berlin police say they are targeting dangerous behavior, including traffic violations and group riding that endangers others, while stressing they support lawful use of these vehicles. Parents are urged to talk with younger riders about traffic laws and safe riding in Berlin.
   

2. 3 Rushed To Hospital After Early-Morning House Fire In Berlin: BVFD (patch.com) — An early-morning fire on Mooreland Road in Berlin sent three residents to the hospital for smoke inhalation and left their home with significant smoke and water damage. Berlin firefighters quickly knocked down an attic fire, received mutual aid from Task Force 51 partners, and confirmed no pets or firefighters were hurt. The Berlin Fire Marshal's Office is now investigating the cause.
   

3. Deborah Jane (Bartley) Marturano BERLIN Deborah Jane (Bartley) Marturano, 69 (bristolpress.com) — Berlin residents are mourning Deborah Jane (Bartley) Marturano, 69, a woman remembered for her deep Christian faith, love of family, and playful spirit. Calling hours and funeral are Thursday morning at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery, with friends invited to share memories and support her family.
   

4. This CT boys soccer team has a tradition of winning; it's trying to get back to the top (courant.com) — Glastonbury boys soccer is off to a 3-0 start and will soon test itself against Berlin, led by standout player Tommy Francalangia. After a rare down year, the Guardians believe their renewed focus and tough schedule, including Berlin and Farmington, can push them back toward state title contention.
