Inspectors confirmed the smell, and the company has adjusted equipment settings and pledged continued monitoring while Berlin officials stay engaged with state regulators.
   

• Berlin Police Announce New Officer, 2 Police Academy Graduates (patch.com) — Berlin residents will see a few new faces in uniform, as Officers Shakespeare Rodriguez and Jenna Peck have graduated from the New Britain Police Academy and begun field training with the Berlin Police Department. The department also welcomed Officer Nicholas DiNicola, who was sworn in at Berlin Town Hall and will soon start academy training before patrolling town streets.
