Berlin Announces Winners Of America 250 Scavenger Hunt

BERLIN, CT — The Town of Berlin has announced the winners of its Berlin 250 Scavenger Hunt, concluding a community event that encouraged residents and visitors to explore the town's history as part of America's 250th anniversary celebration.

• Patricia Brzezinski

• Melody and Lilliana Koermer

"Congratulations to all of our winners and thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this community event such a success," the town said in a social media post. "It was wonderful to see so many residents and visitors exploring Berlin, celebrating our history, and joining in the fun."

The scavenger hunt was organized by volunteer members of the Berlin 250 Steering Committee as part of the town's commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The event invited participants to visit historical and community locations throughout Berlin using a list that could be downloaded electronically or picked up at the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library.

Participants who completed the hunt and submitted their entries by the deadline were entered into a prize drawing featuring donations from local businesses and community organizations.

The scavenger hunt was one of several events planned as part of Berlin's yearlong Berlin 250 celebration, which commemorates the nation's semiquincentennial while highlighting the town's local history.
