Berlin Businesses Fail Alcohol Compliance Checks
Five of seven businesses did not pass a compliance check last Tuesday.

BERLIN, CT — Five of seven Berlin businesses with alcohol permits which were subject to compliance checks were found in violation Tuesday.
On July 3, Investigation Division personnel conducted sale of alcohol compliance checks at seven permitted/licensed businesses in Berlin. The five establishments which failed to comply with the parameters set forth in the General Statutes of Connecticut, Title 30, Liquor Control Act were:
- One Stop Store – 164 New Britain Road
- Plaza Liquors – 863 Beckley Road
- Berlin Convenience & Deli – 831 Mill Street
- Turnpike Wine – 1943 Berlin Turnpike
- Wine Merchants – 717 Berlin Turnpike
Employees at these businesses who were responsible for conducting the illegal transactions were issued misdemeanor summonses for sale/delivery of alcohol to a minor. These establishments were also subject to a “Law Enforcement Referral” made to the State of Connecticut, Department of Consumer Protection, Liquor Control Division.
Only two businesses passed the compliance check:
