With Berlin Pool Closed, Folks Can Swim In Rocky Hill

BERLIN/ROCKY HILL, CT — Berlin's outdoor public swimming pool is still closed due to glass contamination, but town officials report progress is being made.

Meanwhile, the town Monday said Berlin's neighbor, Rocky Hill, has reached out and is extending an offer for Berlin pool pass holders.

According to the town, the Berlin Parks and Recreation Department has reached out to Rocky Hill and they "have graciously offered Berlin residents with pool passes to come enjoy Elm Ridge Outdoor Pool, located at 376 Elm St., Rocky Hill.

Berlin officials said Percival Pool, which was closed indefinitely on Sunday after broken glass was found inside, is currently being tended to, though no reopening date has been set yet.

"The parks and grounds department has drained, washed, and is in the process of filing the pool," wrote the Town of Berlin. "The pool is still closed until further notice."

In order to gain access to Rocky Hill's pool, guests must show their Berlin pool pass.

There is also a non-resident rate, so those without pool passes can still go visit their pool. That rate is $7.

The hours for Elm Ridge Outdoor Pool in Rocky Hill are Tuesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., as well as Wednesday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

"The usage of Elm Ridge Outdoor Pool with your Berlin Pool Pass will only be accepted until Percival Pool reopens," wrote Berlin officials Monday.

"We will continue to provide updates to the opening of Percival Pool as we have them.
We thank everyone for your patience, and we thank Rocky Hill Parks and Recreation Department for opening its pool to us."
