There Is Such A Thing As A Free School Lunch: Berlin Schools

Berlin schools, like all public schools in Connecticut, reverts back to free lunches for all starting on Wednesday, March 1.

BERLIN, CT — Just like students statewide, starting Wednesday March 1, there is such thing as a free lunch.

Berlin school officials Tuesday confirmed its policy regarding the resumption of free lunches for all students.

On Feb. 14, Gov. Ned Lamont signed into legislation the extension of the state's free school lunch program for all students.

Starting Wednesday and ending on Friday, June 30, all students are eligible for one free breakfast and one free lunch per school day, according to Berlin school officials.

Although all students will be provided meals at no cost, Berlin still encourages anyone who still needs to submit a 2022-23 Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application to click the provided link and apply.

Payment for any student debt incurred up to March 1 for meals or any a la carte items purchased throughout the school year will be the parent/guardian's responsibility.
