Berlin Teen Charged In Shooting Of Girl, 17: Police
The 18-year-old male was taken into custody Thursday by Berlin police.

BERLIN, CT β A teenager from Berlin has been charged in connection with the shooting of a teenage girl from Plainville last weekend.
The Berlin Police Department said Thursday afternoon that Benjamin Homar, 18, of Fieldstone Crossing, Berlin, was charged with first-degree assault; first-degree robbery; criminal use of a firearm; and possession of a stolen firearm.
Homar is being held on $750,000 bond and will be arraigned in New Britain Superior Court on Friday.

According to the BPD, on Sunday night, Feb. 4, officers received a call at about 9:17 p.m. from a resident near 292 Deming Road reporting they heard a gunshot outside.
Shortly thereafter, a 17-year-old girl from Plainville was taken to the emergency room at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain for a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Police said the victim has, since, been released from the hospital.
Berlin police said they sought an arrest warrant for Homar, receiving it on Wednesday, with the suspect being apprehended Thursday.
