Energy Prices Keep Going Up: Do You Remember When You Could Buy Heating Oil for 13 Cents per Gallon?
Oil prices keep climbing. My house feels like an igloo!

Energy prices keep soaring: soon we will be paying $10/gallon. Aren't you glad you heat your home with oil? LOL!
Luckily I discovered Dollar Wise Oil recently. Its prices are very competitive and delivery is assured. I just ordered oil for $3.519/gallon for a Wednesday delivery. Everyone I called previously was charging much more per gallon than Dollwar Wise.
I wish I had the money to renovate my home and make it more energy efficient. I was recently speaking to an engineer from Germany; he informed me that Germany requires a specific form of construction that is more energy efficient, involving some type of porous clay brick. According to this engineer, wood construction is not permitted because of its inefficient R value.

Oil prices have been climbing since 1973 in this country, but I have not witnessed a new energy conversion here yet. After forty years of research, wouldn't you think we would all be heating our homes and driving our vehicles using alternative energy by now.
If I had been President, I would have proposed a tax credit, dollar for dollar, for individuals converting to alternative energies. For instance, if as a home owner you incurred $20,000 worth of costs to install solar panels on your home, I would have allowed you a $20,000 tax credit. Think of the jobs this would have created in our country and the impact such a program would have had on energy conservation. Why don't our candidates for public office propose such progressive measures for alternative energies? It would create jobs, spur a new industry, decrease our dependence on Middle East oil, and save individuals on taxes.

What do I know: I am not a politician. I am only a bean counter. Yes, I am not an attorney, like most members of Congress and Presidents, but at least I know how to read a budget and balance one. Go figure.
