Our Congressman, John Larson, voted for the Defense Authorization Act, threatening habeous corpus for American citizens
Our Congressman, John Larson, voted for the Defense Authorization Act, which empowers our government to imprison Americans without habeous corpus.

Congressman John Larson voted for the Defense Authorization Act, which legally codifies powers to the President of the United States and others to imprison Americans indefinitely without the right to a trial. This is a serious infringement of our Bill of Rights as citizens of the United States, and I am appalled that Congressman John Larson, a Democrat, voted for such an Act. And I am equally appalled that President Barack Obama will not veto this Act. Imagine the consequences of this Act if a Dick Cheney becomes President in the United States in the future. You may be imprisoned indefinitely without trial for simply posting your free speech on the Berlin Patch in opposition to a government policy.
Here is how our Connecticut House of Representatives voted on the Defense Authorization Act:

I thank Rosa DeLauro and Christopher Murphy for voting against this horrible transgression of our civil liberties.
Please write or email President Barack Obama, Senator Blumenthal, Congressman John Larson, and others to voice your opposition to this Act. Especially in these very dire economic times, we need leaders who will protect our Constitutional rights, not abrogate them.
