CT Man Charged In Massive Gun Trafficking Bust: State Police
A New Britain man faces charges after police seized more than 100 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
NEW BRITAIN, CT β A New Britain man was charged in a gun trafficking case after police found more than 100 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition in his home. Steven Gerent-Mastrianni, 39, was arrested on a warrant following a ten-month investigation, according to a statement from state police.
Following his arrest, police seized more than 150 items from Gerent-Mastrianni's home and vehicles, including about 125 guns and components capable of making weapons fully automatic.
These firearms include multiple fully-automatic firearms, semi-automatic firearms, shotguns, pistols, pistols with threaded barrels, hundreds of high capacity magazines, and 30-40 thousand rounds of ammunition, according to state police.

Police also seized a high-tech 3D printer with pistol lower receivers that appeared to be made with the printer. These weapons are considered to be "ghost guns," police said.
Three homemade explosive devices were also found at the home, police said. The Connecticut State Police Bomb Squad was on scene and safely disposed of those devices.

Gerent-Mastrianni was charged with sale of an assault weapon, possession of an assault weapon, illegal transfer of a long gun, 19 counts of sale of large capacity magazines, possession of a machine gun, nine counts of weapons in a motor vehicle, and illegal transfer of a manufactured firearm without a serial number.
He was held on a court ordered $500,000 bond.
