An alliance of interfaith and community organizations has joined together to organize a memorial service around the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack on our nation. On September 11th 2011, a service with the theme "United in Peace, Healing with Hope" will be held at St. Joseph's Cathedral on Farmington Avenue in Hartford. This event will commence at 7pm and last about an hour and a half.
This diverse community will speak strongly of the need to live as an American family in peace, remembering and honoring all who were lost on September 11th 2001, and to chart a course of hope in our future. Governor Dannel Malloy will be the guest of honor, and four key speakers will each focus on one of these topics: Unity, Peace, Healing and Hope. This will be accompanied by prayers, poems and music from many faith traditions.
