Hazardous Weather Outlook for Berlin: Fog, Snow, Intense Cold

If your house's pipes are prone to freezing, now is the time to prepare for that possibility!

The recent colder temperatures (not counting Sunday’s warmth) were just a preview of what’s to come this week. The following forecast is from the National Weather Service. A dense fog advisory was issued until 10 p.m. Sunday.

  • Sunday, Jan. 4: Showers likely, mainly before 9pm. Areas of fog before 9pm. Otherwise, cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 31. West wind 6 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
  • Monday: Mostly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 28 by 5pm. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.
  • Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 15. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
  • Tuesday: Snow likely, mainly between noon and 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 24. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
  • Tuesday Night: A chance of snow, mainly before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Wednesday: A chance of snow showers, mainly between 1pm and 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 27. Blustery. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 1. Blustery.
  • Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 17.
  • Thursday Night: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 13. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 28.
