BERLIN, CT β€” Berlin firefighters recently received a special donation from a local country club that could, someday, save a child's life.

That's because the Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Berlin recently donated money to the Town of Berlin Fire Departmentfor CPR trainers that simulate a baby in distress.

Thanks to the $300 donation, the TBFD was able to purchase two mannequins that simulate infants in distress.

Those simulators are used to train responders on CPR techniques for babies.

"The Town of Berlin Fire Departments would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff and members of the Shuttle Meadow Country Club," wrote the TBFD.

The new training devices replace the department's 30-year-old mannequins.

"These state-of-the-art trainers feature real-time feedback monitoring of the students' performance allowing them to correct issues and ensure CPR is being performed at the optimum levels," wrote firefighters. "This will help us keep our members' CPR skills sharp and ready to respond at a moment's notice."
