Man Accused Of Playing With Toy Car On Route 9 In Berlin: State Police
State police said they arrested a Meriden man for operating a remote-control car on state highway Saturday morning.

BERLIN, CT — A Meriden man is accused of operating a remote-control car on Route 9 Saturday morning, state police said.
State police have charged Leonard Kroher, 49, of 136 Broad St., Apt A, Meriden, with disorderly conduct, reckless use of a highway by a pedestrian and improper parking.
Kroher was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court.

According to state police, at about 7 a.m., Troop H in Hartford heard of multiple reports of a pedestrian operating a remote-controlled car on Route 9 in the New Britain/Berlin area.
Police said callers reported a male pedestrian running across the northbound lanes of travel onto the southbound lanes, operating the remote-controlled car.

A responding trooper located and approached an occupied vehicle, parked on the Route 372 westbound entrance ramp to Route 9, in the town of Berlin.
Police said the trooper observed a remote-controlled car within the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
The male occupant of the vehicle was positively identified as Kroher, police said.
As a result of this investigation, Kroher was taken into custody, transported to Troop H, and charged, police said.
