A man wanted in Pennsylvania fled to Connecticut and was living under a false identity, according to police.

BERLIN, CT — A man wanted on an extraditable warrant out of Pennsylvania was charged in Berlin with assuming a false identity, according to a police statement. Ernest Cohens, 52, of Sacramento, CA, was on probation in Pennsylvania for homicide by vehicle and displaying obscene/sexual materials.

In January Cohens absconded from his supervision in Pennsylvania and had been evading apprehension since then.

A police investigation revealed that Cohens had assumed a false identity and had gained employment using fraudulent documents, according to the statement. At the time of his arrest he was working for a Connecticut trucking company as a driver.
